Dr. Robert E. Hardy Cancer Center
Comprehensive cancer care with compassionate support, offering personalized treatment for cancer and hematologic disorders
The Dr. Robert E. Hardy Cancer Center provides quality care for patients with cancer/hematologic disorders and sickle cell disease. In 2021, Nashville General’s Cancer Center earned a 3-year Full Accreditation from the Commission on Cancer for its comprehensive, high-quality and multidisciplinary patient-centered care. The Cancer Center is staffed by multiple specially trained physicians who are board certified in Hematology and Oncology. Experienced nurses trained in cancer chemotherapy provide infusion and chemotherapy treatment under the supervision of an Oncology Certified Advance Practice Nurse. 80 Years of Accredited Cancer Care
For eight decades, Nashville General’s Dr. Robert E. Hardy Cancer Center has been accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer—making it one of the longest-accredited cancer programs in Nashville. Our multidisciplinary team of oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, and nurses provides comprehensive care, guided by compassion and backed by national standards.

Care That Lasts a Lifetime
At NGH, cancer care is about more than treatments—it’s about relationships and resilience. Patient Tim White shared, “I actually look forward to coming for my treatments… the nursing staff, they’re great, and I consider all of them my friends.”
That spirit of compassion continues long after treatment ends. Survivorship is an essential part of the journey, and our team provides ongoing follow-up care, resources, and encouragement to help patients embrace life beyond cancer with strength and confidence.
