Nashville, TN — September 12, 2024—The Nashville General Hospital Foundation is excited to announce a generous donation from Team Chad for a new gas-powered golf cart shuttle designed to enhance mobility and accessibility for patients, especially those facing respiratory illnesses or other mobility challenges. This much-needed addition will provide reliable transportation from the parking garage for the hospital to its main entrance, relieving patients who previously struggled with steep ramps and long distances.

For years, the five-story parking garage at Nashville General Hospital has posed significant difficulties for patients with limited mobility. The previous electric-powered cart could not meet the demands of the steep inclines, and after five years of disuse, the need for a new solution was urgent. Thanks to Team Chad’s generosity, the newly christened “Team Chad Patient Courtesy Shuttle” will restore this vital service, ensuring that Nashville General’s most vulnerable patients can access care more efficiently and comfortably.

“At Team Chad, we believe that no cancer patient should face their journey alone. Our partnership with Nashville General has been instrumental in providing vital services to the community. From the Food Pharmacy to the Team Chad Courtesy Patient Shuttle, we're committed to ensuring that all patients feel supported.” Emily Walker, Team Chad Executive Director

The shuttle was officially unveiled during a dedication ceremony on September 12th, where patients, staff, and community members gathered to celebrate this significant milestone. Jennifer Balog, Chief Development Officer at Nashville General Hospital and Executive Director of the Nashville General Hospital Foundation, expressed gratitude for the partnership: “We are incredibly thankful to Team Chad for their steadfast commitment to improving healthcare access. This shuttle will profoundly impact our patients, breaking down physical barriers that have long made it difficult for many to get the care they need.”

Dr. Joseph Webb, President and CEO of Nashville General Hospital, also spoke at the event, emphasizing how this donation directly aligns with the hospital’s compassionate care and community service mission. Attendees saw the shuttle in action and experienced firsthand the convenience and comfort it will provide.

The “Team Chad Patient Courtesy Shuttle” is expected to serve more than 500 patients in its first year alone, significantly improving their access to vital healthcare services.
