Patients and vistors are encouraged to valet park in the front circle of the hospital. Courtesy Valet Services are available to Nashville General Hospital patients and visitors Monday - Friday from 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

If you prefer to self-park, the Albion Street Garage is located across the street.  Owened and operated by Meharry Medical College, the Albion Street Garage is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Please bring in your parking ticket with you and we will be happy to validate your parking at the location in which you are visiting or have an appointment.

The Hospital recognizes the right of visitation by an individual of the patient’s choice to assist in the health promotion and healing process, while assuring safety and providing a quiet, restful, therapeutic environment. The hospital will allow a family member, friend, or other individual to be present with the patient for emotional support during the course of the stay subject to the exception below. The hospital will not deny visitation privileges on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or disability.

***RSV and FLU ALERT*** During the months of November through March, do not visit or accompany a friend or loved one to the hospital or clinic if you have  fever, cough, vomiting, or diarrhea.  No visitors under the age of 12 are allowed in patient care areas, unless they are a sibling of a newborn and are not exhibiting any cold or flu symptoms.  We ask that all visitors wash and santize their hands upon entering and exiting a patient care room or area.

Nurse Management (Nursing Supervisors, Directors or the CNO) and/or Physician staff can suspend visitation for patients when that visitation infringes on the rights or safety of others. This includes, without limitation, the privacy rights of patients. In addition, visitation may be suspended when the visitation is medically or therapeutically contraindicated.

Nashville General Hospital is a TOBACCO FREE facility.

In keeping with our mission to promote health and wellness, tobacco use is prohibited at Nashville General Hospital . Upon admission, identified smokers will be offered smoking cessation therapy during hospitalization. NGH is committed to delivering excellent clinical care and creating an environment of patient safety. To deliver this level of care and safety, all in- patients must remain on the unit in which they are receiving care. If you attempt to leave the clinical area to smoke, clinical staff will contact the attending physician and house supervisor. If you persist in leaving the unit to smoke, any intravenous devices or other equipment will be removed and an Against Medical Advice (AMA) discharge will be document.

Public Posting of Hospital Standard Charges

Nashville General Hospital is pleased to provide a copy of portions of its "Charge Master", which is its ongoing price or list of charges for various hospital services and procedures.  As you review the document, note that this list is a living document, meaning that from time to time our hospital updates the prices for services and procedures based on several factors including, for example, the costs we incur in obtaining those services.  We have crafted this list to focus on the highest volume procedures, rather than listing every single procedure or service. Listing everything would create a huge, unmanageable document.  Finally, please note that the listed prices include a 40% discount for patients who do not have insurance and must pay the bill themselves.

If you cannot find a specific charge or price, or have a question about a charge, please email us your question to: We will seek to answer your question by the end of the next business day.
