Interventional Radiology

Minimally invasive procedures guided by advanced imaging, offering precise treatment for a wide range of conditions.

Interventional radiology (IR) blends real-time medical imaging with minimally invasive therapeutic procedures. Using imaging equipment such as ultrasound, CT scans and live X-ray, an interventional radiologist can diagnose and treat anything from poor circulation in the legs to broken bones in the spine. Compared to most traditional surgical treatments, IR is safer, faster and less expensive.

Common procedures

Pain management (kyphoplasty/vertebroplasty), radiofrequency ablations (lumbar, thoracic, sacral, genicular, cervical, occipital), joint injections, ESIs and SPG block (migraine treatment)

Diagnostic radiology (DI) uses medical images to determine the cause of an injury or illness, and to confirm a diagnosis. The most common type of diagnostic imaging includes:

  • X-ray
  • Computed Tomography (CT)
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
  • Bone Density Scan
  • Ultrasound
  • PET/CT Scan
