Alecia Fair, DrPH
Dr. Malin Fair is a seasoned public health professional with more than 30 years of experience working in health education and promotion within diverse communities. In her position, she focuses on patient-centered wellness programs that reach underserved communities.
Alecia’s experience includes evaluating AIDS education programs in Western New York adolescents, community-engaged childhood obesity prevention in Rural South Carolina middle school students, psychosocial health beliefs and health disparity factors impeding medically underserved women in Metropolitan Nashville, and resolving abnormal mammograms. Recently, Alecia has led a national precision medicine project engaging a cohort of diverse study participants underrepresented in research to support the design, implementation, and governance of the program.
In her current role, Alecia focuses on creating a climate of trust and transparency by working with community health workers and churches to reach people where they are through the Congregational Health & Education Network (CHEN) to reduce the health disparities among Nashville’s African American community by providing health education and literacy through faith-based partnerships.
Alecia has taught numerous graduate school classes and supervised several research programs throughout the United States. She has published over 40 articles in medical journals, been featured in several books, and presented at numerous conferences worldwide.
