DeAnn M. Bullock, M.D., MMHC, FACHE
DeAnn M. Bullock, M.D., MMHC, FACHE is the Chief Medical Officer and Emergency Department medical director at Nashville General Hospital ensuring the delivery of high-quality equitable access to care for all patients.
A native of Nashville, Dr. Bullock earned her medical degree from Meharry Medical College before completing her residency as Chief Resident at the Medical College of Georgia in Emergency Medicine. After practicing in North Carolina at Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune, she and her husband returned to Nashville in 2007 at which time Dr. Bullock began practicing at Nashville General. She served as the quality director for the emergency department for many years prior to being named the emergency department’s medical director in 2014. Dr. Bullock is the medical director for the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) program in Davidson County, based at Nashville General. She has most recently been named the Chief Medical Officer, a role she previously served in for 3 years, leading the organization through COVID.
She completed her Master of Management in Healthcare at Vanderbilt University and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executive.
Dr. Bullock is also active throughout the hospital and community. She works tirelessly in her pursuit to build and lead teams, develop collaborative relationships, mentor, and facilitate change within a landscape inclusive of public, private and academic stakeholders at the same time providing excellent patient care to a diverse and largely underserved population.
Dr. Bullock is a Nashville Healthcare Council fellow and was named one of Nashville Business Journal’s Women of Influence as well as Nashville Medical News Women to Watch. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Bullock enjoys exercising, cooking, and spending time with her family.
