The Dr. Robert E. Hardy Cancer Center provides quality care for patients with cancer/hematologic disorders and sickle cell disease. In 2021, Nashville General’s Cancer Center earned a 3-year Full Accreditation from the Commission on Cancer for its comprehensive, high-quality and multidisciplinary patient-centered care. The Cancer Center is staffed by multiple specially trained providers who are board certified in Hematology and Oncology. Experienced nurses trained in cancer chemotherapy provide infusion and chemotherapy treatment under the supervision of an Oncology Certified Advance Practice Nurse. All patients receiving active treatment are followed closely for the duration of their therapy and after completion to gauge their response and whether they’ll require additional therapy.

When should I seek urgent medical care?
If you experience a high fever (100.4°F or higher), sudden shortness of breath, severe chest pain, uncontrolled bleeding, or other emergency symptoms, call 911 immediately or go to the nearest emergency room. For non-emergency concerns during treatment, contact our office for guidance.
