BEE Award Winner: Danielle Turner, Patient Access

"I am pleased to recommend Danielle Turner for the BEE Award in recognition of her extraordinary compassion, selflessness, and commitment to putting patients first. On March 31, 2026, after completing her workday and heading to her car to go home, Danielle encountered an elderly female patient in the parking garage who had accidentally locked her keys inside her vehicle. Despite being off the clock, Danielle immediately stepped in to help, as she so consistently does. She contacted both the NGH and MMC Security teams to explore any possible solutions. When it was determined that neither team had the ability to unlock the vehicle, Danielle did not hesitate to do more. Learning that the patient lived locally, she offered to drive the patient home to retrieve a spare set of keys and then back to the garage — entirely on her own time. This act of kindness went well beyond her job responsibilities and ensured the patient felt safe, cared for, and supported during a stressful situation. What makes this moment especially meaningful is that this behavior is not uncommon for Danielle. She consistently demonstrates empathy, initiative, and a patient-first mindset in her daily work. Her actions reflect the very spirit of the BEE Award and the values we strive to uphold as an organization. Danielle's compassion, professionalism, and willingness to go above and beyond make her a shining example of Being Exceptional Every Day. She is truly deserving of this recognition."
