Dr. Melan J. Smith-Francis is a highly accomplished certified nurse-midwife and family nurse practitioner with over two decades of experience in healthcare. She has delivered babies in a variety of settings—including birth centers, hospitals, and homes—bringing compassionate, skilled care to women and families during life’s most meaningful moments.
A passionate advocate for women’s health, Dr. Smith-Francis has shared her expertise through local and state-level presentations, advancing awareness and education on critical healthcare issues.
Her academic journey reflects her dedication to lifelong learning and excellence in patient care. She earned a Biology degree from Florida A&M University, a Nursing degree from Austin Peay State University, a Midwifery degree from Vanderbilt University, a Post-Master’s Certificate in Family Nurse Practice from Tennessee State University, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Tennessee.
