Melan J. Smith-Francis, DNP, MSN, CNM, FNP-C, holds certifications as both a certified nurse-midwife and family nurse practitioner, boasting extensive experience delivering babies across diverse settings such as birth centers, hospitals, and homes.
Melan has effectively utilized various platforms, including local and state-level presentations, to champion women’s health issues. With degrees from Florida A&M University (Biology), Austin Peay State University (Nursing), Vanderbilt University (Midwifery), Tennessee State University (Post Master’s Certificate in Family Nurse Practitioner), and the University of Tennessee (Doctor of Nursing). Her nursing journey commenced 21 years ago in the Vanderbilt Emergency Department, setting the stage for her lifelong commitment to healthcare.
