Dr. Gillian Stuart is a board-certified general surgeon at Meharry Medical Group with 25 years of experience providing comprehensive and compassionate surgical care. She performs surgical procedures at Nashville General Hospital at Meharry. Dr. Stuart earned her medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine in 2001 and completed fellowship training in Surgical Critical Care.

Her clinical interests include general surgery, surgical critical care, trauma, women’s health, and wound care. Her expertise includes treating gallbladder disease, cholecystitis, gangrene, hernias, and other complex surgical conditions. She frequently performs appendectomies, abscess drainage, anorectal abscess surgery, hernia repair, and small bowel resection.
