Overlock uses his joint degrees in law and theology to help Nashville General Hospital with grant work, medical loss prevention and government relations. Since 2004, he has raised more than $8 million in grant support for the Metro Nashville Hospital Authority.

Active in the Nashville community, Overlock serves on the Boards of Directors for Community Health Charities and JFON, Justice For Our Neighbors. He recently rolled off the Board of Directors for Susan G. Komen’s Greater Nashville Affiliate. During his seven year term on the board, including two as President, he helped the organization reach $1.4 million in annual revenue to fight breast cancer.

Overlock has achieved the highest attorney rating of AV-Preeminent through Lexis/Nexis and been listed by the Tennessee Supreme Court Administrative Office of the Courts as a Rule 31 General Civil Mediator. In 2013, Nashville Business Journal awarded him its Health Care Hero award for his public service with Komen and the Hospital Authority.

Overlock co-chairs the Nashville Bar Association’s Health Law Committee and is a member of the following Nashville Bar Association committees: Ethics, Community Relations, and Government Attorneys. He is active in the Health Law Sections of the Tennessee and American Bar Associations.
