The Division of Pulmonology and Critical Care of Meharry Medical College provides care to patients within our adult intensive care unit (ICU). These specially trained physicians manage all aspects of our critically ill patients.

Our procedures are performed in our endoscopy suite where specially trained nurses are prepared to assist with all procedures under mild anesthesia.

The physicians provide inpatient and outpatient bronchoscopy services and a diagnostic pulmonary function laboratory.

We treat pulmonary disorders such as:

• Asthma
• Acute and chronic pulmonary emboli
• Emphysema
• Interstitial lung disease
• Lung cancer
• Sarcoidosis
• Pulmonary vascular diseases
• Tuberculosis
• Fungal infections of the lung
