Mission, Vision and Values
Nashville General Hospital at Meharry is city-owned and provides the residents of Davidson County with an array of sophisticated healthcare services, state-of-the-art technology and a compassionate, caring staff. Our 125-bed, JCAHO accredited facility readily accommodates a wide range of acute care needs, including a post-operative surgical floor, medical floor, adult and neonatal intensive care units and full OB/Gyn services. Our medical and surgical staff is dedicated to providing comprehensive, high quality care to patients and their families.
Nashville General has provided quality healthcare to the Nashville community since 1890 when it opened its doors as City Hospital. In 1999, we moved from the original hospital building on Hermitage Avenue to the renovated George W. Hubbard Hospital on the Meharry Medical College campus. Through the years we have created a positive partnership with Meharry Medical College, Vanderbilt University and the city of Nashville.
We are committed to providing excellent healthcare and our goal is to provide accessible, affordable care to all Davidson County residents.
